How long would it take to spend money for new smartphone? Is my Facebook password secure? How does the password protection work? How fast do I have to go to reach the final destination within half an hour? How much tea should I cook for 13 people and how much sugar put in it? Common questions. To answer these questions, mathematics and its tools need to be involved to some degree. When we master mathematical tools, we can use them in all areas of human activity: from planning a daily schedule and finance management, through construction activities and medicine to aircraft engineering. The math quizzes and games in this section can be used to enhance mathematical competencies of students in secondary schools and in the latter years of primary school education. In these materials you obtain new, interesting and unconventional interactive mathematical exercises Interactive games Jeopardy and Triangle are intended for two players or two teams. Funny Picture and Puzzle Games are intended for one player. The games are distributed as a PDF file and can be opened on a broad variety of platforms. To reach the full interactivity in PDF, the Adobe Reader must be used as a PDF browser.
Technical requirements
  Smartboard or computer
Knowledge acquisition gain
We require standard knowledge referring to equations and inequalities (linear, quadratic, rational, radical, absolute value) and systems of equations and inequalities. Rarely knowledge of higher degree equations and equations with parameters is also required.

Workforce in Mathematics

In the EU, there are around 260,000 mathematics and statistics students. Jobs for mathematicians, other scientists and engineers grew by 7% in the past five years. Jobs for technicians in the field grew by 2%. Overall, they account for 7% of all jobs in the EU. Mathematicians work as data analysts, actuarial analysts, investment analysts, or data scientists. As of 2016, around 15 million European science and engineering workers are employed. They work in a variety of sectors, including professional services, utilities, manufacturing, construction, wholesale, and the public sector. In the next years, jobs for mathematicians, other researchers and engineers will increase by 13%, and jobs for technicians in the field will increase by 2%.
