Innovative Educational Tools in Astronomy lessons

Inquiry-based learning

To develop the 10 lessons of Astronomy, we adopted an inquiry teaching procedure, which consists of the following phases:
The phenomena - narration (presented by the teacher)
  - Questions of the students
  - Questions of the lesson (stated by the teacher)
  - Students' Hypotheses/Answers
  - Experimenting - data collection (In some lessons the data (simulation, images) are provided by the teacher for example lesson: 8,9 in other lessons the data are collected by the students: lesson 10.)
  - Conclusion (by students).
  - Comparison between the initial assumptions and the final conclusions of the students (metacognitive activity by students)
  - Generalization (by students)
  - Extension/Application (students apply the generalization in new situations)
